New Patient Instructions
Create an Account
Go to the Connecticut Business Network Portal. Create an account by entering your first and last name, email address, and a password, then click "Submit."
Activate Your Account
Check your email for a message from the portal. It will contain a link to activate your account. Click on the link to proceed.
Log In
After activating your account, return to the website and click on
"Login" to access your new account.
Navigate to Registration
Once logged in, click on "State Regulations, Services, and Forms."
From there, select "Medical Marijuana Registration." Identify as a Patient in the registration section, click on "I am a patient." This will direct you to the patient-specific registration process.
Complete Your Registration
Fill out the registration form as prompted. You will need to upload a digital copy of your driver's license and proof of residency during this step.
Submit Your Application
After filling out all necessary fields and uploading your documents, submit your application.
Receive Your Card
You will receive an email with your medical marijuana card within 48 hours of submission. Check your email to download or print your card.
Lamination Service
Once you receive your card, you can have it laminated at your local
dispensary for durability and ease of use

There is no state fee to apply. The Department processes applications within 30 days of receiving the application and required documentation. Medical marijuana cards are valid for one year from the date of issuance. Renew annually by obtaining a new physician certification and completing the state registration.
